First Nations Cultural Safety Framework
Share
The Australian Evaluation Society has published an excellent framework on First Nations Cultural Safety. While it is focused on evaluation and evaluators, much of it is applicable to people working in any capacity with First Nations people and communities.
The framework is a good starting point for non-Indigenous people interested in critical self-reflection and decolonisation.
I was a member of the AES for a few years when I worked for the Atlantic Fellows for Social Equity. The AES has always seemed to try and respect and centre First Peoples ways of knowing, doing, and being. This framework is a great step forward in this regard.
