The power of sincerity
One of the things that sets good collaborators apart from not-so-good collaborators is sincerity.
If collaboration isn’t working, it can often mean some people are not being sincere. This shows up as not caring about other people’s thoughts and feelings. Not taking the time to empathise and take on others’ perspectives.
A good collaborator will genuinely care about everyone else in the collaboration.
They will actively take an interest in their needs, wants, and aspirations. They will actively listen and support others in the group to reach their potential. Not because that’s what a good collaborator should do, but because they actually deeply care about peoples wellbeing and self-actualisation.
They care because they know and feel deep in their bones that supporting others is supporting the self and the whole. They know and feel the interconnectedness between all people (and hopefully beyond). They experience their own wellbeing and self actualisation when they focus on respecting and supporting others. They feel the growing potential of the whole and the growing possibility for peace, belonging, and wellness.
